Dr. Sheila Pope

With over 20 years of experience as an educator and as a small business owner, in June 2007, Dr. Pope launched The Resource Center. Dr. Pope’s mission is to help her clients grow academically and professionally, and to expand The Resource Center through community partnerships, securing contracts, mentoring, and community outreach.

Dr. Pope has enjoyed an outstanding career in education and media. Dr. Pope has served as a School Counselor and Principal in Angleton ISD. She is an adjunct Professor of English at Texas Southern University. As the CEO of Pope’s Resource Center, Dr. Pope created the digital streaming network, POPETV. Her television shows stream on the app, POPETV on Roku and Amazon Fire TV. She is a writer with two publications, “Rebounding from Homelessness: How to Forgive Through the Process” and “Writing Essentials: Strategies to Master Freshmen English and Writing Placement Exams”. Her podcast, “Conversations with Dr. Pope” streams on Anchor and Spotify.

Dr. Pope attended Capella University and earned a doctorate in General Psychology. She also has MA in Counseling, Master of Liberal Arts, and an Associate Degree. She holds Texas teacher certifications in English Language Arts and Reading (7-12/1-8), Special Education (K-12), School Counseling (K-12), and Mid-management (K-12). She holds an endorsement from UNT as Director, Job Skill Training, and Job Placement for Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Services. Dr. Pope earned a certification in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. She also completed the Texas Certificate of Achievement in Certified Business Technical Assistance Consultant (CBTAC).

Dr. Pope served on the Board of Directors for the Brazoria County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She serves as the Chair of the Business Development Committee. She also serves as Chair of the Events Committee for Brazoria County Democrats. Dr. Pope enjoys her home life with her children and producing television shows.
